Kathy Holtz has been teaching dance since her high school years. Her passion and enthusiasm, garnered from over 30 years on the dance floor; as well as her training as a school counselor, sets the stage for an enriching environment for students. At Dance Me School of Dance and Charater Development, all students are encouraged to reach their potential, participate actively in their community, and challenge themselves as individual both inside and outside of the studio. A current student at Dance Me, Miss Grace has been training in Irish Dance since the age of 6. She is a student at Niskayuna High School, and participates in lyrical, tap, jazz, hiphop, acro, contemporary, ballet, and pointe classes. Over the past three years she has been an assistant dance teacher for Irish classes and will continue to be a member of the Dance Me competition team. Grace is excited to work with all students to share her love and passion for Irish dance!
Miss Dawn (Community Coordinator)
Ms. Dawn is from Johnstown, NY and started dancing at 7 years old. She studied at Studio Dance Contemporary and was the first pointe soloist in the company. She later danced with High Performance Dance Studio until she left for college. Dawn continued her love of dance and theatre throughout college and beyond. She holds a bachelors in communication and marketing from University at Albany. The arts are firmly in her grasp as she also became a photographer and now enjoys an entire Studio worth of students to photograph while they dance! She is thrilled to be a part of the Dance Me family and give the love of dance to the next generation of dancers. She's a mom of two and brings her nurturing kindness to each class. She's always ready with a kind ear, positive re-enforcement and love of teaching to every class.
Miss Rachel (Camps and Birthday Parties Coordinator)
From East Haddam, CT. Rachel's enthusiastic energy, as well as her background as a preschool teacher and nanny, helps to provide an ideal environment in which students are motivated to grow, move and learn. Her innate understanding of child development, honed over years in the professional industry, rounds out the Dance Me School as not only a center of creative growth, but also as an arena for personal development. She holds an Associate’s in Early Childhood Education from Three Rivers Community College, and is currently a Preschool Teacher at Mekeel Academy.
Shelby is a native of Schenectady and has been dancing since the age of 3. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts from Suffolk University. While living in Boston, she danced for the Suffolk University Dance Company and interned for Boston Ballet’s Department of Education and Community Initiatives gaining experience in the teaching of adaptive dance programming for children with diverse learning needs. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Special Education and Literacy at the University at Albany. Shelby also dances for the Arena Football League, Albany Empire. She is excited to bring all of her knowledge from these experiences to her classes at Dance Me!
Miss Brianna (Director of Competition Team)
From Burnt Hills, NY Brianna trained with the Broadway Dance Company and continued her dance education throughout high school at Eleanor’s School of Dance. She is trained in all styles including tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and contemporary, hip hop and acro. She holds a BA In Psychology and Dance from Ithaca College. As a member of Unbound Dance Company and On The Floor Dance Company, she choreographed many pieces. She is also former president of the Ithaca College Dance Team. She has also completed her MA at UAlbany.
Miss Celine (Studio Manager)
Miss Celine is originally from South Salem, NY. As a self-proclaimed "theater kid" she got a taste for the stage at a young age. However, the acting bug came first, and dance naturally followed. She continued dancing at Emerson College as a member of Emerson Urban Dance Theater, a hip-hop and rhythm tap company. She then became the Hip Hop Director her senior year. Throughout college, she also taught jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop in Boston and Norwalk, Connecticut. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Communications, and Psychology, she began working as a Data Manager. She has been teaching at Dance Me since 2015, transitioned over to a full-time staff member in 2017, and has never looked back!. She currently teachers Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tumbling., and is Dance Me's Office Manager. Miss Celine's energy that she brings to each class keeps students of all ages engaged, learning and having a blast!
Born and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, Miss Lauren attended the Galle and Collins Dance Academy for 15 years where she studied both ballet and pointe. During her time there she performed at various locations in New York including West Point and the 1991 tickertape parade in New York City that honored the veterans of the first Gulf War. As a member of the Annie Galle Dance Company, she was fortunate to be part of a performance tour that took her to Denmark and Sweden. Prior to becoming a stay at home mom to her two boys, she taught Spanish at both the junior and senior high levels. She now enjoys working as a substitute teacher at the elementary level and volunteering at her son's school. With the love of ballet always in the back of her mind, Lauren recently came back to dance and chose Dance Me's Adult Ballet to make her return. She is excited for the opportunity to put her dance knowledge and teaching skills to use.
A dancer since she was 7, Erin studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, Irish step and gymnastics in Colonie, NY. She has traveled around NY and New England competing in numerous dance competitions. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management & Leadership from The College of Saint Rose. Throughout her college years Erin performed with the Golden Knights Dance Team, while continuing to teach hip-hop, tap, jazz, lyrical and ballet to students between the ages of 3-18

Brenda is a Schenectady native, who has been studying dance since the age of two. Brenda holds a bachelors in both Psychology and Communications from the University at Albany. Brenda also studied Social Work at Columbia University. Dance has followed Brenda through college as she taught and choreographed at local dance studios. During her time in New York City, Brenda trained with former Radio City Rockette Mary Rupert. Brenda also assisted Ms. Rupert with her business, Tap Dancing Hands Down, which provides individuals with disabilities the ability to tap dance with their hands. Brenda is looking forward to working with all of the Dance Me families, and sharing her love of dance.
Kristin began Irish dancing at the age of 5 with Donny Golden at the Donny Golden School of Irish Dance in Mineola, NY. She began her competitive career at the age of 6 and went onto compete at the regional, national, and world levels in solo and team competitions. Throughout her solo competitive career, Kristin went on to win the Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireachtas and place within the top 50 at the World Irish Dancing Championships. Kristin has also performed with bands such as The Chieftains and Cherish the Ladies, and in venues such as Carnegie Hall. After retiring from competition, Kristin went onto become a certified Irish dance teacher, TCRG, through An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha.
Kristin holds a Bachelor's degree in Childhood and Special Education from SUNY Geneseo, as well as a Master's degree in Literacy from the University at Albany. Throughout the year, she works in Cohoes City School District as a fourth grade teacher.
Miss Margaret has been studying ballet for over 40 years. Growing up in Utica, NY, she studied ballet and pointe at Munson Williams Proctor Institute, a very traditional, disciplined, and strict ballet school. She continued to study ballet throughout her adult life at various schools in Upstate New York, Washington, DC, and South Bend, Indiana. In addition, she has studied modern, jazz, and liturgical dance, and has performed in every conceivable space from churches to SPAC to the John F. Kennedy Center (and everywhere in between!) In the past, she taught ballet in both South Bend, Indiana and in Schenectady. She has two daughters, ages 19 and 8, who are both dancers. Her 8 year old is a current Dance Me student, and her 19 year old danced throughout her childhood and is now minoring in dance at college.

To provide an atmosphere of love, community, passion, dedication, hard-work, respect, positive experiences, and outstanding dance technique. Miss Kathy and her Teachers pledge to be devoted to mentoring each student inside and outside of the studio.
At the age of 2, Miss Kathy began her dance training in her hometown of Auburn, NY. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and pointe under the instruction of Blair Pausley, Bettina Pausley, and Laura Pratt. She also was a successful competitive gymnast for 13 years. She continued her education at SUNY Geneseo where studied psychology and sociology, and her post-graduate work earned her a Masters Degree in School Counseling from Sage Graduate School. Kathy became a Certified School Counselor in 2007. She has provided counseling services to youth in the foster care system, and has served as Director of the Gymcats dance program in Las Vegas, where her career in the professional dance world began. After relocating back to New York, Kathy continued her career as a dance educator. Kathy has successfully developed award-winning competitive dance teams, she is a professional member of the National Dance Education Organization and the New York State Dance Education Organization, and she and her staff regularly attend conventions to maintain professional development. in order to offer the most current and relevant dance training to her students.
After several years of dreaming, Kathy's vision for a dance studio of her own has finally come to life. Dance Me is not just a dance studio. The classes at Dance Me are positive, wholesome and fun, designed to build confidence in each student. Her passion for both dance education and positive character development have led Miss Kathy and her staff to embrace the role they serve as role models and mentors to all students, hoping to instill the same passion in them; as well as helping to shape them into successful, contributing members of our community.
