Kathy Holtz has been teaching dance since her high school years.  Her passion and enthusiasm, garnered from over 30 years on the dance floor; as well as her training as a school counselor, sets the stage for an enriching environment for students.  At Dance Me School of Dance and Charater Development, all students are encouraged to reach their potential, participate actively in their community, and challenge themselves as individual both inside and outside of the studio.

Miss Grace: Irish, Lyrical, Pre-k & Kindy/1st classes

A current student at Dance Me, Miss Grace has been training in dance since the age of 6. She is a student at Niskayuna High School, and participates in lyrical, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro, contemporary, ballet, Irish and Pointe classes. Prior to becoming a teacher, she has assisted in classes and will continue to be a member of the Dance Me competition team. She has been an Irish dancer for 10 years, and loves teaching all ages. Miss Grace is excited to start her second year of teaching, and to share her love and passion for dance!

Miss Dawn: Pre-k, Kindy/1st, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical


Ms. Dawn is from Johnstown, NY and started dancing at 7 years old. She studied at Studio Dance Contemporary and was the first pointe soloist in the company. She later danced with High Performance Dance Studio until she left for college.  Dawn continued her love of dance and theatre throughout college and beyond. She holds a bachelors in communication and marketing from University at Albany.  The arts are firmly in her grasp as she also became a photographer and now enjoys an entire Studio worth of students to photograph while they dance!  She is thrilled to be a part of the Dance Me family and give the love of dance to the next generation of dancers. She's a mom of two and brings her nurturing kindness to each class. She's always ready with a kind ear, positive re-enforcement and love of teaching to every class.

Miss Alicia : Preschool 

Miss Alicia started dancing when she was 4 year old. She trained in many styles including tap, jazz, & ballet. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education, as well as a Master’s degree in Literacy from The College Of Saint Rose. She is a Special Education Preschool Teacher outside of Dance Me. During her college years she danced on the dance team at Saint Rose! She is so excited to not only share her passion for teaching little ones in school, but now in dance as well!




Miss Bri

Miss Bri is a native of the area, and started her dance training at the age of 2. She started with Broadway Dance Company, and then continued her dance education throughout high school at Eleanor’s School of Dance. She is trained in all styles including tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and contemporary, hip hop and acro. Her dance education did not end after high school, as she went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Dance from Ithaca College. During her time at Ithaca, she was a member of Unbound Dance Company and On The Floor Dance Company, and choreographed many pieces for both. She is also the former president of the Ithaca College Dance Team. She also holds a MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from UAlbany. Miss Bri is one of Dance Me's original teachers, and began teaching at Dance Me in 2015.  She took on the role as Competition Director in 2017, and continues to run the competition team at Dance Me, having choreographed many award-winning numbers over the years! Miss Bri regularly attends dance conventions and workshops to continue to foster her dance education and promote growth in her students! Miss Bri formally took over as Owner of Dance Me in July 2020 and is so excited to be living out her life long dream of owning her own dance studio!

Miss Beth: Ballet & Lyrical 

Ms. Beth has been dancing since the age of 4, primarily focused on ballet and modern dance.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science from Russell Sage College and is a Registered Dietitian.  While at Russell Sage she also minored in Dance, enriching her dance knowledge with dance history and choreography classes. She went on to receive a Master’s in Public Health from the University at Albany. In 2013, Ms. Beth began teaching ballet as part of the core classes required for competition dancers.  She has taught ages 5 to 18 at varying levels of ability.  She began teaching at Dance Me in 2019 as a substitute teacher and is excited to continue teaching and growing at Dance Me! 

Miss Celine: Hip Hop

Miss Celine is originally from South Salem, NY. As a self-proclaimed "theater kid" she got a taste for the stage at a young age.  After graduating high school, she continued dancing at Emerson College as a member of Emerson Urban Dance Theater, a hip-hop and rhythm tap company. She then became the Hip Hop Director her senior year. Throughout college, she also taught jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop in Boston and Norwalk, Connecticut, and continued teaching after graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Communications, and Psychology. She is one of Dance Me's original teachers, and began teaching at Dance Me in 2015. She has also been involved in Dance Me's competition program for the past three years, choreographing award-winning hip hop numbers and having so much fun! 

Miss Lauren: Adult Ballet 
Born and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, Miss Lauren attended the Galle and Collins Dance Academy for 15 years where she studied both ballet and pointe. Although she stopped dancing during college, the love of ballet kept the idea of some day returning to dance in the back of her mind.
After college, she taught Spanish at both the junior and senior high levels prior to becoming a stay at home mom to her two boys. She now enjoys working as a substitute teacher at the elementary level and volunteering at school.
After a long dance hiatus, Lauren decided to dust off her ballet slippers and chose Dance Me's Adult Ballet to make her return to the studio, first as a student and then as teacher. She is excited for the opportunity to put her dance knowledge and teaching skills to use.

Miss Brenda: Adult Tap & Jazz  

Schenectady, NY is Brenda’s hometown. Brenda has been dancing since the age of two. Growing up Brenda participated in national dance competitions, and also participated on both high school, and college dance teams. Brenda has been teaching dance for over 15 years. Brenda obtained a dual bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Communications from the University at Albany. Brenda also took Master classes in law at Columbia University. During college Brenda taught tap dancing to Alzheimer patients. Brenda has a passion for creating accessible choreography, and creating inclusion within her dance classes. Brenda currently holds her Zumba certification, and is also certified in Yoga, and Chair Dance Yoga.

Miss Katie: Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap

Miss Jen: Stretch & Flex, Cram Jam, Contemporary, Musical Theater
Jennifer has been dancing since the age of 3, first at Step w/ Jodianne and then The Dancenter in Utica NY. She is trained in jazz, ballet, modern, lyrical, hip hop and tap. During her training, she has taken master classes under prestigious dancers/choreographers such as Frank Hatchett, Mia Michaels and Suzi Taylor. She has won various awards at national dance competitions. Jennifer was also a part of the non for profit group, Showstopper Productions, which is a singing, dancing and acting group who performed locally as well as internationally. Upon graduating high school, Jennifer attended Siena College and was on the Siena Dance team for four years where she held the title of dance captain. During college, she continued to be a guest teacher at The Dancenter for their Summer Dance Intensive and has choreographed award winning pieces for the studio. Most recently, Jennifer performed in the Northeast Ballet’s Nutcracker in 2020. She is a school psychologist within the Niskayuna Central School District and is very excited to be joining the Dance Me community! 

Miss Lily: Pre-k & Kindy Classes, Lyrical 
Miss Lily is a current Niskayuna High school student and is going into her sixth year at Dance Me. She is a member of the Dance Me Competition Team and participates in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, pointe, and acro classes. She has always wanted to be a dance teacher, and plans to study dance in college. Miss Lily has been an assistant teacher in numerous classes prior to this year, and she has been training to have a class of her own. She loves working with kids and being able to help them learn and grow in dance, and she cannot wait to begin teaching this year!

Miss Kristin: Irish

Kristin began Irish dancing at the age of 5 with Donny Golden at the Donny Golden School of Irish Dance in Mineola, NY. She began her competitive career at the age of 6 and went onto compete at the regional, national, and world levels in solo and team competitions. Throughout her solo competitive career, Kristin went on to win the Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireachtas and place within the top 50 at the World Irish Dancing Championships. Kristin has also performed with bands such as The Chieftains and Cherish the Ladies, and in venues such as Carnegie Hall. After retiring from competition, Kristin went onto become a certified Irish dance teacher, TCRG, through An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha. 
Kristin holds a Bachelor's degree in Childhood and Special Education from SUNY Geneseo, as well as a Master's degree in Literacy from the University at Albany. Throughout the year, she works in Cohoes City School District as a fourth grade teacher. 

Miss Emily: Acro/Tumble

A current student at Dance Me, Miss Emily has been dancing since she was 2 years old. She is a student at Niskayuna High School and participates in tap, jazz, ballet, and acro classes. Before becoming a teacher, she has assisted in classes and will continue to be on the Dance Me competition team. Miss Emily is super excited to begin her first year of teaching and is looking forward to a great year ahead!

Miss Paige: Acro/Tumble

Dance Me Mission Statement: 
To provide an atmosphere of love, community, passion, dedication, hard-work, respect, positive experiences, and outstanding dance technique.  Miss Brianna and her Teachers pledge to be devoted to mentoring each student inside and outside of the studio.  

Miss Jess: Hip Hop  

Jessica has been dancing since she was little. She took tap, jazz, ballet, African, and hip hop. Jessica danced for semi pro teams in the Albany area, the Albany Patroons (basketball), Albany River Rats, and Albany Devils (hockey teams). Jessica has also volunteered at the local Boys & Girls club to do Hip hop dance class workshops over the summer. She likes to work with kids because teaching them and watching them come into their own is what teaching is all about. Jessica believes that dancing is not all about the steps. It’s about moving, grooving, being confident, and making mistakes. She is excited to get back into teaching, dancing, and being creative again at Dance Me! 

Miss Angelina: Tap & Jazz  

Angelina has been a dancer for 15 years, since she was 3. She grew up at Art in Motion Dance Academy in Albany and is continuing her dance training at Russell Sage College. She has worked with multiple professionals, including Savion Glover, Mike Minery, and Randy Skinner. Angelina has also worked closely with the Rockettes at the Rockette Summer Intensive in New York City. She has attended the NYC Big Apple Tap Festival for many years where she works with many different tap inspirations. Angelina’s favorite genre of dance is tap but loves hip hop and contemporary as well. She loves to work with kids and see the impact she has on each one of their lives. Angelina started teacher assisting at the age of 12 then at the age of 16, she started running rehearsals and teaching classes of her own. She can’t wait to get more experience teaching and watch the kids grow at Dance Me! 

Miss Eliza: Contemporary 

Born and raised in the country out by Ballston Spa, Miss Eliza has been homeschooled since 6th grade and is currently in her senior year! She is a sergeant in the Saratoga county sheriffs program where she will possibly peruse a career in law enforcement. She is a current student at Dance Me, who started dancing at the age of 7 years old and has been with Dance Me since the very beginning.  She has been assisting in classes since she was 12 and this is her 2nd year teaching her own class. She has been trained in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz/jazz funk, lyrical, hip-hop, acro, and contemporary. She now teaches contemporary as it is her favorite style and passion! She really enjoys teaching the younger students and sharing that passion for her favorite style of dance! 

Miss Samantha: Hip Hop

Miss Samantha is from Queensbury NY, where she started dancing at the age of three. Her love for dancing is her dream. She has stated “Dancing is like an organ that makes her body function”. At Bolton Dance Academy in Glens Falls Samantha danced for 14 years, training in many styles including  jazz, lyrical, ballet, hip hop, pointe, and tap. After High School she continued her studies at SUNY Adirondack were she received her Associates degree in Business. In 2019 Samantha trained in beginner ballroom for two years. Today Samantha is creating her own choreography for hip hop and ballroom, and she just became a certified Zumba instructor! She is looking forward to learning, teaching, and growing with dance at Dance Me!

​​​​The Founding of Dance Me 

At the age of 2, Miss Kathy began her dance training in her hometown of Auburn, NY. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and pointe under the instruction of Blair Pausley, Bettina Pausley, and Laura Pratt.  She also was a successful competitive gymnast for 13 years.  She continued her education at SUNY Geneseo where she studied psychology and sociology, and her post-graduate work earned her a Masters Degree in School Counseling from Sage Graduate School.  Kathy became a Certified School Counselor in 2007.  She has provided counseling services to youth in the foster care system, and served as Director of a dance program in Las Vegas, where her career in the professional dance world began.  After relocating back to New York, Kathy continued her career as a dance educator.

After several years of dreaming, Kathy's vision for a dance studio of her own came to life as Dance Me was founded in 2015.  Dance Me is not just a dance studio.  The classes at Dance Me are positive, wholesome and fun, designed to build confidence in each student.  The Dance Me Team has a passion for both dance education and positive character development.  They embrace the role they serve as role models and mentors to all students, hoping to instill the same passion in them; as well as helping to shape them into successful, contributing members of our community.​  As of July 2020, Dance Me has shifted it's management over to Brianna Ryan, as Miss Kathy has relocated to Florida and spending more time with her family.
